This is a beautiful plant that can take the poorest soil conditions. It may take it a bit to establish, but when it blooms it can really give a unique display in your native garden. Interestingly enough, this is a perennial woody plant, most would confuse it with an herbaceous flower. Like many plants in the pea (legume) family this plant can appeal to many mammals such as rabbits and deer for food.
