Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grant
Amount: $600,000
Eligibility: Local units of government
Description:a grant program that provides up to 50% (100% for distressed communities) funding assistance to eligible, local units of government to acquire, develop, and/or rehabilitate public outdoor recreation areas.
Regular Urban Forestry Grant
Amount: $25,000
Eligibility: Cities, villages, towns, counties, tribes and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in or conducting their project in Wisconsin
Description: Projects must relate to community tree management, maintenance or education within Wisconsin cities, villages or other areas of concentrated development.
The Pollinator Project
Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: These grants are designed to kick start an organization or individual’s work and give them the lift they need to thrive and grow
Description: The project’s:
- support from the community,
- alignment with the values of Heartivism,
- impact and potential to create a ripple effect,
- budget and whether it shows value and resourcefulness,
- potential for growth,
- clarity and creativity.
Illinois Biodiversity Field Trip Grant
Amount: $20/student up to $500
Eligibility: Teachers of grades prekindergarten through 12 in Illinois, including home-schooling teachers, may apply.
Description: “Biodiversity” refers to the variety of life in an area. The field trip should support Illinois natural resources topics currently being taught in the applicant’s curriculum.
