    Eligibility: 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, or units of local government having specific statutory authority to acquire land for public open space purposes (i.e., Forest Preserve Districts, Conservation Districts, Township Open Space Districts, Park Districts, etc.)

    Description: Now accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) for Acquisition of Land and Conservation Easements! Permanent conservation easements intended to preserve or enhance the natural habitats and wildlife areas in the state of Illinois

  • Chi-Cal Rivers Fund 2025 Funding Opportunity 

    Amount: $25,000 - $500,000

    Applicant Workshop: Wednesday, July 9, 10:00-12:00 PM Central Time
    Deadline: July 30, 2025
    Eligibility: Grant funding in 2025 will be awarded in three categories:

    1. Improve Habitat Quality and Connectivity

    2. Expand and Maintain Nature-Based Infrastructure

    3. Activate Restored Habitats and Natural Areas


    Description: Restore the health, vitality and accessibility of the waterways in the Chicago and Calumet region by supporting nature-based solutions, habitat enhancement, and public-use improvements and stewardship
