Stylophorum diphyllum (Celandine Poppy)

This plant is uncommon around the Chicago region and is only found in a few locations.  It is typically found in rich open woodlands and at the bottom of bluffs and slopes. The yellow flowers are very attractive and its fuzzy seed pods set it apart from Greater Celandine, a Eurasian weed.
