Viola pedatifida x palmata (Prairie Violet/Early Blue Violet)

Prairie Violet is a great mini native for the garden! It supports many insects and is a host plant for Fritillary butterflies. Interesting enough, many violets including this one can have two flowering periods.  This violet behaves well as opposed to other violets such as common violet. Many violet species can and do hybridize naturally with other violets even in nursery environments, so enjoy the variability. This one appears to be a cross between pedatifida & palmata.
