Carex annectens (Small Yellow Fox Sedge) is a medium-sized tussock-forming sedge of wet to moist prairies. Small Yellow Fox Sedge reaches about two to three feet high and wide and works in many soil types. An attractive sedge, yellow seedheads form in early summer above the narrow foliage ,it can be used in rain gardens and wet prairie and shallow marsh restoration. Many butterflies, moths and skippers use it as host larval food and several species of waterfowl consume the seeds.
