Andropogon gerardii (Big Bluestem)
This native grass is classic of the tallgrass prairie. In the fall this plant can display beautiful red to purple colors as it goes dormant. If planted with other prairie plants it can please the eyes blowing in the wind on a late summer's day. However, it can be bit aggressive in small native landscapes due to it seeding regulatory and its 6 foot stature.
