Verbena stricta is a native of prairies and savannas, Hoary Vervain thrives in dry-mesic to dry soils with good drainage, but can still perform is normal soils as well. Attractive grey-green foliage is quite fuzzy positioned along square stems. Tall spikes of blue flowers trickle out blossoms all summer. A favorite of native pollinators and seeds are consumed by songbirds.
